With beach season and spring break right around the corner everyone is looking for the best way to find that elusive six pack before the sun starts shining and we get to spend our days soaking up that Vitamin D! Here is everything you need to know to get started:

Eat Real Food

If you really want to start trimming the fat around your belly nothing is more important than your diet. Cutting out all those refined carbohydrates (pastas, bread, rice, etc.) and processed sugar is a good place to start. Do your best to keep it simple, remember to shop the perimeter of the grocery store, and say to yourself over and over again, “meats and veggies, nuts and seeds, 0some fruit, little starch, and no sugar!”

Additionally, cutting out dairy is a great thing too.  Dairy is one of the most inflammatory foods in our modern diet, second only to gluten. It causes inflammation in a large percentage of the population, resulting in digestive issues such as bloating, gas, constipation, and diarrhea, as well as other symptoms including acne.

High Intensity Interval Training

It’s no secret that HIIT is one of the best ways to shred unwanted fat. Not only does it take less time than jumping on an elliptical for 60-minutes, but it’s also way more fun! So why is HIIT so effective when it comes to burn fat? It’s because of the effects you continue to get when your training is over. In fact, it’s been shown that your body will continue to burn significantly more calories during the 24 hours following an HIIT workout than your normal 60-minute cardio session.

Start Training with Free Weights

Normal gyms, filled with machines, take away the need for you to engage your core and develop stability.
